The BVE folder consists of two main folders, the Railway and the Train folder. In the railway folder, the objects, routes, and sounds are stored for every route. The train folder consists of all the trains for BVE. When installing files from BVEStation, most of them are set to automatically install into their respective default directories, so you dont have to do anything. Other files on BVEStation may come in a archived format, in a zip or rar file. You are to extract those archived files, then manually place those files into those correct respective directories.

When you play BVE, you should navigate to your route folder to access and run a route to play. Routes on BVEStation, share files, therefore you must download all dependencies in order for a route to work. It is recommended that you download the NYCTA A Line since many routes depend on files from that line.

On the downloads page, you will see a respective list of files that you are required to download to get the route working. If there are any inaccuracies, or problems that you encounter with dependencies please make a post in the forum, so we are aware of the problem.

Trains are easier to install as you simply extract and place the extracted files into the train folder. The routes will automatically call the train upon clicking of the route you want to play in BVE. Should the train be not found, an error message will pop up warning you that it doesn't exist. This usually means you didn't download it or installed it incorrectly. Make sure your trains aren't Train/R46/R46 since many times the archive utilty makes an extra directory.
